Salesforce signs agreement to buy defence logistics software company Rune
Salesforce said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, whose software supports military logistics where connectivity is limited.

Salesforce announced on 29 October 2026 that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies. The company’s post does not name a price. Salesforce expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
Salesforce describes Rune as an edge-native provider of software for logistics and sustainment for the US military and allied nations. According to the post, the software forecasts supply and resupply needs, recommends resource allocation and transport routing, and works in environments with denied, degraded, intermittent or limited connectivity, synchronising with enterprise systems when the network returns. Salesforce says Rune is already deployed with the US Army and US Marine Corps.
The company will join Missionforce, Salesforce’s defence and government business. Salesforce says the acquisition “would mark” its most significant national security acquisition. It also says the defence business is growing 80 per cent year on year, and cites a 10-year US Army contract with a $5.6 billion ceiling among recent milestones. Those figures are Salesforce’s own statements.
Rune’s co-founders, David Tuttle and Peter Goldsborough, launched the company in 2024. The post says they draw on leadership experience at Anduril.
Salesforce frames the deal in terms of three layers of defence operations: enterprise systems of record, strategic headquarters planning and the operational edge. It says Missionforce already covers the first two, and that Rune completes the third.
