Where defence becomes software.

About DefenceTech Sector

DefenceTech Sector is a news service covering the technology side of defence: software, AI, autonomy, sensors and the large, long-lived systems that modern armed forces depend on.

We follow the primes, the software-first challengers and the governments, agencies and investors that shape their market. Global coverage, with a deliberate weight on the Nordics, Europe and NATO, and close attention to the countries setting the pace elsewhere.

Published every weekday. Weekly newsletter. Press releases welcome.

How the reporting works

Every story is written from the source document (a government or agency notice, a procurement record, a company release or a filing) and links it. Where no primary document is reachable, the story says so and names the outlet it came from. Every item carries a one-line "Why it matters", written here rather than borrowed. When we get something wrong we correct it on the article itself, dated and visible. The details are on how we work and in our editorial policy.

Each week's top stories are collected in the briefing archive and sent by email as The DefenceTech Sector Brief. The Wiki explains the terms, programmes and institutions the coverage keeps returning to, in plain language, dated and maintained.
